Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game based on the Quake III engine. This war game simulates the infantry and combined arms warfare of World War II.
The third installment, Call of Duty 3, was released in November 2006 exclusively for consoles and developed by Treyarch instead of Infinity Ward. The fourth installment, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is the only one in the series to not be set in WWII and is slated to be released in the Fall of 2007.
